School Uniform

Through consultation with parents, we have adopted a smart school uniform.  We believe that wearing a school uniform is important.  It gives our children a feeling of pride and a sense of belonging to an effective learning environment.  It has advantages in that it provides all the children with the same standard of dress and helps to avoid the rivalry associated with "designer labels".  It also enables our teachers to readily identify Birdham children when they are on school outings. We would strongly recommend that a label with the child's name is attached to any clothing and a link to a name tag  provider is below.

• Royal blue sweatshirt, Royal blue T-shirt for PE, Royal blue sun hat and fleece.     Also available cardigans and raincoats.  All bear the school name.
• White blouse/shirt or white polo T-shirt with school name available from office
• Grey trousers or skirt 
• White or grey socks 
• Black sensible shoes - NO TRAINERS or KNEE LENGTH BOOTS 
• Summer dress: blue and white stripes/checks 
• Lightweight rain coat

 To assist children and parents with 'not losing' clothing, we  have teamed up with STIKINS to offer parents the opportunity to purchase quality labels for your children’s school uniform, whilst earning the school commission at the same time! This money can then be used to continue to help purchase some of the fantastic resources that benefit our children’s learning.

 As we all know, at some point, your child will come home without some article of clothing!  We understand time is precious, which is why we think these labels are such a great idea; they simply stick onto the wash-care label of clothing. They can even be used in shoes! Naming of clothing is a school requirement and we are hoping that with this opportunity we can start to eliminate some frustrations that surround these issues.

They are really easy to use – no sewing or ironing – just stick them to the wash-care label.

They are washing machine, tumble-dryer, dishwasher and even microwave-proof!
